EUREKA 3D Camera for robot bin picking

EUREKA 3D Camera

The EUREKA 3D Camera is the 3D camera of the EUREKA AI Vision System. It uses stereo vision with AI-based 3D reconstruction, without pattern projection or time-of-flight, and generates point clouds for robot guidance.  The camera works with a wide range of parts, including glossy, semi-transparent and complex-shaped parts. It can be fixed above the bin or mounted on the robot wrist, and mounting brackets for major robot brands are available. One PoE cable carries both power and data to the EUREKA Controller.  The camera is supplied as a set with the EUREKA Controller, with the software pre-installed. Seika Sangyo supplies the set across Europe from our base in Düsseldorf, including sample part testing on our own EUREKA demo system and remote training together with Eureka Robotics.

Key features of the EUREKA 3D Camera

EUREKA 3D Camera mounted on a robot wrist above a two-finger gripper

AI-based stereo vision

Point clouds are generated from stereo images with AI, without pattern projection or time-of-flight.

Fixed or robot-mounted

Mount the camera above the bin or on the robot wrist, depending on your application.

One cable to the controller

A single PoE cable carries both power and data to the EUREKA Controller.

3D vision for bin picking and inspection

Handles difficult parts

Glossy metal, semi-transparent plastic and complex shapes are captured as usable point clouds.

Vision capabilities for robotic automation

Point cloud generation, 2D and 3D object localization, defect detection, and OCR are available through the EUREKA Controller.

Guided calibration

Calibration between the camera and the robot is guided step by step in the Controller GUI.

Choose the mounting for your cell

Brackets and adapter plates for major robot brands are included. Fixed mounting can help reduce cycle time, while robot-mounted configurations are well suited for larger workspace coverage (multiple source bins) or for parts where different viewing angles help, such as complex or cluttered parts.

Works with YAMAHA, DENSO and other major robot brands

Through the EUREKA Controller, the camera works with robots from YAMAHA, DENSO, FANUC, ABB, Yaskawa, Universal Robots and others.

Supplied as a set

The camera comes as a set with the EUREKA Controller and its pre-installed software, ready to connect to your robot.

We support your project

We work with you from the first review of your application to training your team. We also supply YAMAHA and DENSO robots, so we can propose the controller, the vision system and the robot as one solution.

STEP 1

Requirement Review

We review your application requirements, your parts and your target cycle time.

STEP 2

Configuration Proposal

We propose a configuration of controller, camera, robot and gripper for your application, including the camera model and its mounting position.

STEP 3

Simulation and Sample Testing

If you send us CAD data of your parts, we can run a detailed simulation of the pick points. We can also test your sample parts on our own demo system.

STEP 4

Remote Training Support

Together with Eureka Robotics, we provide remote training support for your team.
