KES-QM Warm Cool Feeling Measurement Tester

KES-QM Warm/Cool Feeling Measurement Tester

Textile R&D Equipment

Objective Evaluation of
Warm and Cool Sensations

The KES-QM objectively evaluates the warm or cool feeling experienced when a material first comes into contact with the skin. By measuring the maximum transient heat flux (qmax), the system provides a quantitative assessment of initial thermal sensation, supporting material development and quality evaluation.

Overview

Objective Warm/Cool Feeling Evaluation

Quantitative analysis using qmax

The sensation of warmth or coolness when touching a material is determined by the amount and speed of heat transferred between the skin and the material surface. This initial feeling is an important performance indicator for textiles used in clothing, bedding, automotive interiors and functional fabrics.

The KES-QM measures the maximum transient heat flux (qmax) generated immediately after contact, providing an objective and repeatable evaluation of contact thermal sensation. Higher qmax values generally indicate a stronger cool feeling, while lower values indicate a warmer sensation.

Designed for research laboratories, universities and textile manufacturers, the KES-QM enables reliable evaluation of material comfort while reducing subjective differences associated with sensory testing.

Key Features
