Slurry Analytical System SA2634

Quantitative Evaluation of Li-ion Battery Slurry Conductivity and Dispersion

The HIOKI SA2634 Slurry Analytical System enables quantitative evaluation of lithium-ion battery slurry conductivity and dispersion using impedance analysis. Three indicators, DCR, R-ratio, and Uniformity, provide objective data for comparing slurry characteristics and optimizing formulation and mixing conditions.

Quantitative Slurry Evaluation for Li-ion Battery Development

The SA2634 is an analytical system designed to quantify the electrical characteristics of lithium-ion battery slurries. Impedance measurement data acquired with the HIOKI IM3536 LCR Meter is analyzed using automated equivalent-circuit fitting, enabling consistent evaluation of slurry conductivity and dispersion.

By evaluating slurry characteristics before electrode coating and cell assembly, the system supports comparison of materials, formulations, mixing conditions, and other process variables at an early stage of battery development.

Key Features

Quantitative Slurry Evaluation

Evaluate slurry conductivity and dispersion using three quantitative indicators: DCR, R-ratio, and Uniformity.

Automated Analysis

Automated equivalent-circuit fitting simplifies impedance analysis without requiring manual equivalent-circuit creation or repeated adjustment of initial parameters.

Wide Frequency Measurement

Impedance data can be measured over a frequency range from 4 Hz to 8 MHz using the HIOKI IM3536 LCR Meter.

Aqueous and NMP Slurries

Dedicated disposable sample containers support measurement of both aqueous and NMP-based lithium-ion battery slurries.

Three Indicators for Slurry Evaluation

Impedance measurement data is analyzed to provide three parameters for quantitatively evaluating the conductivity and dispersion state of lithium-ion battery slurry.

DCR

DCR represents the total resistance of the conductive path within the slurry and provides an indicator of overall slurry conductivity.

R-ratio

R-ratio indicates the relative contribution of the resistance component associated with conductive additives to the total conductive-path resistance.

Uniformity

Uniformity provides an indicator of the distribution of the conductive network within the slurry based on the distribution of its relaxation processes.

How It Works

The SA2634 system combines slurry sampling, impedance measurement, and automated analysis to convert electrical measurement data into quantitative slurry evaluation parameters.

01

Fill

Dispense approximately 1 mL of slurry into the appropriate disposable slurry sample container.

02

Measure

Place the sample container in the SA9002 Test Fixture and measure the slurry impedance using the IM3536 LCR Meter.

03

Analyze

SA2634 analyzes the measured impedance data using automated equivalent-circuit fitting.

04

Evaluate

Compare slurry characteristics using DCR, R-ratio, and Uniformity as quantitative evaluation indicators.
